St. Pete’s Second Saturday Art Walk – Too Much for One Outing!

2021 st petersburg art walk

On the second Saturday of every month, St. Petersburg plays host to a much-anticipated downtown art event. Art Walk is a venue that spans five different downtown districts and involves over 40 studios and galleries showcasing works of 200+ artists. From 5 to 9pm, visitors have an opportunity to see some of St. Pete’s most talented displays including paintings, crafts, sculptures, and more in an open, city-wide event. And that doesn’t even include the 100+ murals that also surround the downtown area.

Sponsored by the St Pete Arts Alliance, Art Walk invites locals and tourists alike to immerse themselves in the arts. As a result, this arts celebration is completely free to the public as is transportation to and from each Art Walk destination. There are more than 20 trolley stops through all the arts districts, including the Warehouse Arts District. Likewise, there are also several Looper trolley stops along the Waterfront Arts District. The former runs every 30 minutes while the latter returns to each of its stops every 15 minutes.

Understandably, seeing each of the galleries and studios in a single Art Walk evening is impossible. Therefore, picking and choosing your destinations is important. Each second Saturday, different destinations will hold different venues. For example, many galleries choose to wait until Art Walk for special artist displays and openings. Others incorporate local musical talent as part of their participation. It’s a great opportunity to not only see the vibrant arts community in St. Pete but to also get to know some of your favorite artists more personally.

At St Pete Biking Tours, we are happy to promote Art Walk as well as the art community within St. Petersburg. In this regard, we offer Guided Art and Mural Tours every Wednesday and Saturday from 2 to 6pm. On these tours, you’ll not only see more than 30 different downtown murals, but also learn more about the artists and the city’s rich arts history. And, if you decide to enjoy the tour on a second Saturday, you can continue exploring local arts offerings at Art Walk. It’s truly a great way to experience the wonderful arts scene in St. Petersburg.
